David L. Myers has more than 40 years of leadership experience within faith-based, humanitarian, government, and philanthropic organizations. He served as a Mennonite pastor in Kansas and Chicago, a nonprofit executive director in Chicago, a senior executive presidential appointee in Washington, and a senior advisor with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. From 2009 to 2017, Myers served in President Obama’s administration as director of the Center for Faith-based & Neighborhood Partnerships at FEMA and, concurrently, as Senior Advisor to the FEMA Administrator. In these roles, he was the White House’s leading liaison to faith-based and community groups in national emergencies and disasters. Myers is the recipient of FEMA’s Administrator’s Award for the Unaccompanied Children Mission, Administrator’s Award for Exemplary Emergency Manager, and National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster’s Leader Award. While having retired from full-time employment in 2021, Myers remains engaged as an organizational consultant with humanitarian organizations and philanthropies.
