Fred Spielberg has over 30 years of experience in disaster and conflict settings, working with UN agencies, NGOs and philanthropic foundations. He has provided technical assistance in over 60 countries in Latin America/Caribbean, Africa, Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and Eastern/Southern Europe. His specialization includes the design/implementation of simulations and training to scale up preparedness for emergencies with governments, humanitarian organizations and aid workers. Most recently, he coordinated UNICEF’s response to the Venezuelan migration crisis in Colombia (2017-2019), assisted UNICEF National Committees to scale up hurricane preparedness in the Caribbean (2020-2021), and helped WHO run a major public health simulation for the European region (2022). He earned a bachelors in Anthropology and a masters in Public Policy.
